Portland, Oregon duo Reptaliens recently made a splash with their acid-dipped music video for 'Changing', lifted from their 2019 album VALIS. Now the husband and wife team have dropped a fresh single 'Taking', which is accompanied by a video that documents a drive through twisting roads on a mountainous, pine-filled landscape. The song itself has a kind of driving energy, thanks to the persistent bass plucks, and bass drum. Rich synth chords create atmosphere whilst Bambi's vocals whisper words one at a time - 'digesting, thriving, living'; her soft tone adding a sweet juxtaposition to the chunky feel of the track. Reptaliens' Wrestling EP is out Friday 6 November via Captured Tracks / Remote Control. -Ellie Rose-Davies
